Dementia education and development
The Association for Dementia Studies, led by Professor Dawn Brooker, provides a broad spectrum of development and education opportunities, ranging from accredited online distance modules to 6 day courses at a venue of your choice, plus seminars and workshops here within the ºüÀêÊÓƵ.
We are a multidisciplinary team that can provide teaching to a number of professional groups. We are currently providing education to care home staff, domiciliary workers, General Practitioners, hospital staff as well as many other health and social care professionals. Person centred care is at the heart of all of our education, which aims to equip attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills and empower them to use their personal leadership to affect changes to how they live and work.
We work from a position of evidence-based practice. We bring to all our workshops and courses the latest and most up-to date evidence from research and best practice. We work from an international perspective, drawing on an international evidence base.
You can hear from a selection of students across our courses in this short video -
