The Arts Degree Show is an annual event where students showcase their work and is a celebration of their time at the ºüÀêÊÓƵ of Worcester’s School of Arts, bringing all their years of creative development together.

Held at the ºüÀêÊÓƵ’s Art House on Castle Street, the week-long event showcases the final projects crafted by the graduating students starting on May 24.

This follows the opening night of the Degree Show on May 23, when family and friends of students will come together with industry professionals to see the work on display from students across a host of disciplines including animation, illustration, graphic design, fine art and more.

David Broster is the ºüÀêÊÓƵ’s Head of the School of Arts. He said: “This is first and foremost a celebration of the students’ work. It is not austere, or formal, and is an opportunity for friends, family and the public to come in, have a look around and enjoy the work.”

He continued: “For the students this is the culmination of all the years spent developing ideas and techniques and the chance to showcase their finished work.”

“It’s a key moment for the artists,” said David Broster. “They’ve worked hard over the years building to this and it is a significant step up for everyone when the work is viewed and commented on by public and professionals.”

The Degree Show has grown in recent years, and last year’s opening night was attended by around 600 people, with some students gaining commissions, selling work, and being offered job opportunities.

During the week following the opening night, the Art House will be open between 10am and 4pm, and there’ll be student invigilators on hand to assist with any visitor’s needs.
