Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2007 from ºüÀêÊÓƵ of Worcester, Jodie initially worked at Worcestershire Acute Hospital on the Infectious Diseases and stroke Unit before specialising in Genito-Urinary and Contraceptive Medicine (Sexual Health Services) in Birmingham & Solihull where he spent the next 13 years before joining the ºüÀêÊÓƵ as a Lecturer in 2021.
During his 13 years in Sexual Health, Jodie held many different roles from Health Adviser, Research Nurse, Charge Nurse, Lead for Service Improvement, Clinical Educator Team Manager and Lead Nurse for Education with responsibility for service development and oversight of community services (GP’s, Pharmacies & partner organisations).
During the pandemic, Jodie initially was redeployed to the NEC Nightingale, then Queen Elizabeth Education Department to develop and roll out the online and F2F teaching for staff on ‘Patients recovering from COVID’ before finally spending a year as Matron for the COVID Assessment Unit, Infectious Diseases wards, HIV Medicine, Immunology and Allergy Services and OPAT team at Heartlands Hospital.
Jodie is delighted to be returning to the ºüÀêÊÓƵ where he studied and qualified and is looking forward to engaging with the students in all areas of education.
