Robert is Head of the Three Counties School of Nursing and Midwifery. His professional background is in nursing and his area of practice was within the field of Critical Care, Immunology and Allergy.
He provides leadership to the three departments within the school namely, nursing, midwifery and CPD and apprenticeships.
Robert has over 20 years’ academic experience and is passionate about the university values of widening participation, diversity, equality, and inclusion and the school’s ability to ensure that students have the best possible chance of succeeding in their chosen career.
Robert works with a number of key external stakeholders in the NHS, private and voluntary sectors reflecting the considerable work-based opportunities for learners and students.
Robert is a member of the ºüÀêÊÓƵ’s Leadership Group and Academic Board and has held a number of External Examiner roles at various UK universities, including Queens ºüÀêÊÓƵ Belfast, Brighton and Teesside ºüÀêÊÓƵ and the Universities of Ulster, Leeds and Plymouth.

Robert is interested in all aspects of nurse education, and his research interests lie in the areas of student’s fitness to practise and practice governance.
He also holds honoured affiliations through fellowships with the Higher Education Academy, the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and the Honor Society of Nursing Phi Mu Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International.
