Samita is a part-time PhD student at the Association for Dementia Studies, School of Allied Health and Community, ºüÀêÊÓƵ of Worcester.

Samita is a Senior Occupational Therapist and educator with strong clinical and academic experience in both the UK and India. She is deeply passionate about working with individuals with dementia and spreading awareness about dementia in the South Asian community. She has organized numerous workshops and training sessions for carers and families to achieve this.

Samita is also an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy educator who teaches dementia across different AHP programmes such as adult nursing, mental health nursing, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy.

Samita strongly believes that higher education in dementia is the first step towards improving the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of healthcare professionals and it should be a vital part of higher education curriculums. Her research is focused on identifying the gaps in dementia education provision in occupational therapy programmes across higher education institutions in the UK. She is also an active member of the Higher Education in Dementia Network (HEDN).
